Too Faced Naked Eye palette Makeup tutorial

This look was created with the Too Faced Naked eye palette. It's a great basic eye makeup palette. I love the fact that the give you little look cards to help you use their eyeshadows in the correct way.
I have put together a tutorial using this palette and the following to help you get a better understanding of ways you can use this. I may show you how to acheive a smokey eye with this palette if you are interested. Let me know in the comment section below.
Here is what I used:

L'Oreal decrease eye shadow base
Maybelline Color Tattoo cream shadow in Tough as Taupe
Too Faced Naked eye palette
Mac Black Track gel eyeliner
Kiss waterproof black eyeliner
Bare Minerals Complexion enhancer in Pure Radiance
Bare Minerals Blush in R.S.V.P.
Graftobian Lipstick in Kiss me
Lancome lip liner in Ideal
Stila Lipgloss in Grapefruit
Maybelline Mascara Colossal Volum expressin Waterproof black

The Body Shop Body Butters

After all these years I'm still in love with the body butters from The Body Shop. Many, many moons ago I got my start in beauty working for a small company who still marked prices on their product with a price gun. I fell in love with the products and still to this day enjoy going into their shops and picking out delicious products that not only do I love but, my whole family loves.

If you haven't experienced a body butter it's a real treat. It's a thick body cream that just melts onto your skin with the ultimate in hydration and leaves behind a fantastic scent. No perfume needed after applying these in fact this is all I wear. Shortly after these came out The Body Shop made shower gels to match so now you can start the experience in the shower by layering your scent as you go. I wish they made matching shampoos and conditioners! Hint Hint to The Body Shop if your listening.

Here is one of the original body butters... Brazil Nut is yummy! It has a sweet, warm, nutty  fragrance and works excellent for anyone with normal to dry skin. Still one of my faves for the cooler months.

This one I discovered last year and is my all time favorite. It smells just like a freshly squeezed grapefruit. Sweet and refreshing. Must have for summer time. This is great for normal skin types.

If you love Citrus then this one is gonna get you! Fresh, clean and vibrant. I love Lemons!!! In fact here's a great lemon at home scrub you can make with stuff you probably already have in your pantry. Great for normal to dry skin
And here is the yummiest of all. Who doesn't love strawberries? This one takes me back to being a little girl and playing with my strawberry shotcake doll. My daughter just loves this one too! Great for normal to dry skin.
There are many more scents available but, these are just my picks. They come in a travel size if you just want to try it out. That's what I do when I just can't decide however, the travel size goes so quickly I end up back in the shop to pick up the regular size!

Stay cool and Hydrated this summer,

Shawna : )

Maybelline Color Tattoo Haul/Review

Let me first say that not only are these a great price but, they are an amazing product! I do hope that Maybelline will come out with more colors including a true matte black.

Maybelline Color Tattoo eyeshadows are a cream based shadow that go on and stay on all day.  I don't sleep in my makeup so, I can't tell you if they actually live up to their 24 Hour claim but, I can wear them all day with no problem at all. I do recommend as with any cream product to set it with a pwder product like a matching eyeshadow. You will need a makeup remover for waterproof make up.

My only complaint is that I would have prefered a small pot. They are bit larger than say a gel eyeliner pot but, that alone wouldn't stop me from purchasing these again.

Must have colors for the everyday woman are the four neutral colors... Too Cool: Shimmery white, Tough as Taupe: Matte light gray, Bad to the Bronze: Shimmery Bronze and Audacious Asphalt: Shimmery Black Gray.

Here are the color swatches.....I did end up finding the Pomegranate punk and Bad to the Bronze at another Rite Aide store AFTER I made the video so, those swatches are seperate from the original ones.

Colors in order as they appear: Pomegranate Punk, Bad to the Bronze,

Tenacious Teal,Painted Purple, Edgy Emerald, Audacious Asphalt,Fierce & Tangy,Toughe as Taupe, Bold Gold & Too Cool

Glittery New Years Eve makeup tutorial

It's been a very long time since I have made a makeup tutorial for you so here is my last one of the year. I do hope you will enjoy it and make 2012 your year to sparkle and shine.....

1.We begin this look by adding a base to lock in your shadow for the rest of the night with "Cockerspaniel" from Bare Minerals. You can use a synthetic or natural haired brush for this. It really is your preferance.
 2. I have taken an off white shadow with a small amount of shimmer and added it to the inner corner of my eyes and just below the brow bone. Then, I used a silver shadow all over my lid but, not where I added the white.I used a small flat shadow brush to smooth it all out.
3. Now, I have added a bit of "smut" eyeshadow from Mac and mixed it with a rosey mauve eyeshadow from Lancome and have begun to define the outer corners of my eyes with a 217 or blending eyeshadow brush.

4. With the same brush I added a small amount of "carbon" black eyeshadow from Mac in the crease of my eye to create more definition then lined my eyes with a flat liner brush and the same shadow. Next, I added a bit of Duo glue to my lids where I wanted the glitter to stick. With my finger I patted on the silver rainbow glitter.
5. With a small lining brush and "blacktrack" gel liner from Mac I lined my eyes and rimmed them to create a more dramatic, defined line. It is important to do this AFTER you add the glitter or the glitter will stick to your eyeliner and it will look gray.
Here are the eyes after curling my lashes and applying false lash strips with a coat of mascara....

 6. Finally I finished off this look by adding a pretty pink blush "Escape and Lovely" from Bare Minerals, Highlighter in "Gossemer" from Bare Minerals to my cheek bones and down my nose and add a pinky nude lip with NYX lip liner in "Mauve", Lipstick from Revlon in "Pearl Pink" and lipgloss from Stila in "Kalidescope".

If you enjoyed this look please let me know by leaving a comment below. I may start making makeup tutorials as well as face painting tutorials in the New Year. Time to do something new.
Have a safe and sparkly New Years eve!

Glittery love and New Years wishes,
Shawna
