Hibiscus flower crown tutorial
I made a similar tutorial a little while ago but, realized it needed to be updated so I re-worked the design and made some improvements and think you will truly enjoy this tutorial. I think I answer most of your questions regarding brush size for my flowers.
As far as applying glitter I usually do this prior to outlining but, in this tutorial I didn't want to distract your eye from what I was doing. I hope you enjoy it. If you have any questions or comments please leave them here or on the video.
I used Soulfire and Shamrock splitcakes by Cameleon
Wolfe white and black for the details and Tag pearl yellow for the base.
Brushes used 1/2 inch flat, #10 flat by Royal & Langknickle
#1 round by Princeton art & brush co.
Purelight glitter by Face n Body Art.

My inspiration to become a Makeup Artist
When I finally get to meet a fan or friend from one of my social networking sites like facebook, twitter or instagram one of the things I always get asked is what made you decide to become a Makeup Artist?
And here is my answer....LINDA...Linda Evangelista that is. Back in the 90's she was the biggest thing since sliced bread. She was everything, Tall, beautiful, stunning and perfection. I remember buying Vogue and Harpers Bazaar magazines just to see what editorials Linda was in that week. I would take out the pages and post them on my bedroom wall. I was not a normal kid. I didn't have posters of boy bands or teen heartthrobs. I had magazine pages of Linda Evangelista. I loved Makeup and fashion and models. I still do today. I just have less time with three kids and a husband to drool over it now.
I wanted to be thin all because Linda was thin, I wanted short hair because Linda had short hair, she dyed hers red and so did I, I even had platinum hair at one point because hers was platinum. She was so inspiring to look at. Every editorial or Magazine cover was completely different. She was called the chameleon. I loved how her makeup or lack there of could totally transform her look.
Little did I know that during those High School days I had found my inspiration to transform others. I would practice on myself. I would take a look I found in a magazine...mostly Linda's looks and try them out on myself. I became a master of recreation. I taught myself how to breakdown a look and remake it. This would become hugely important later on in my career as a face and body artist.
I have a passion for beauty that blossomed during my High School years. I learned makeup the hands on way from working makeup artists. I've worked with High end clientele, Stars and everyday women but, it wasn't until after my third child that I found my true calling as face and body artist. Knowing both ends of the spectrum of beauty has me extremely busy now days and I wouldn't have it any other way. Cut my veins and you won't get red you'll see a rainbow!
Below are some of the magazine tear sheets that were my makeup inspiration.

Interview with moi
I have to say I was shocked and surprised when I received the email asking for an interview with little ol' me! I felt so honored to have been interviewed by fellow artist and all around great person Terina Gillette. She writes a blog called "Learn how to face paint" and has included me in her Artist Spotlight. I have been quoted for different publications before but, this is my first interview and I have to say she did a wonderful job of putting it together.
If you would like to read it please head over to her blog and be so kind as to maybe share it with your friends and leave some comment love.

La Femme Eyebrow powder
As a pro Makeup artist I have a large range of clients from Brides to models so, I have to choose only the best products for my clients and that does not always mean expensive in fact, I have been a huge fan of a very inexpensive eyebrow powder for about 16 years now.
What is this fantastic powder I speak of? It's La Femme! Yes, old school for sure but, it works and it works well!
This is a highly pigmented product so, even if you have very sparse eyebrows you will be able to really fill them in with this and a good eyebrow brush.
You can find this oldie but, goodie for about $5 at most professional makeup stores like my favorite Frend's in North Hollywood or online.
Here is a photo of my own collection I de-potted into a Z-Palette. The colors I have are Blonde, Light Brown, Medium Brown, Taupe (my fave and most used) Charcoal and Auburn which missing from this photo because I cracked it so, now I need to replace it :(
