Hello painty pals! Dates have been set for a 2 day workshop in Turlock, California with my lovely host Andrea Moje owner of Creative faces for kids.
We have set up workshops for February 18th & 19th, 2018.
Day 1 will be Glitter and Glam: In this workshop we will spend the first portion of the day learning simple beauty application with an avant garde glitter makeup look. We will transition over with 3 face & body painting designs that can be used for all types of parties and events. In each lesson, not only do you learn a glamorous face painting design, but you will also learn different glitter application techniques that will amp up and compliment ALL of your face painting designs from parties to festivals to photo shoots and private appointments. This is a great class for the artist looking to offer new services to their business.
Day 2 will be Fierce and Fabulous: In this workshop we will spend the day learning different animal designs most you will be familiar with, but you will learn a new set of techniques that will take your current designs from good to GREAT! This class will be full of new brush techniques, glitter and gem application. You will want to take photos of the designs you paint to show your clients why your face painting is not just average, but spectacular! Come prepared to learn and have a fiercely fabulous time.
All of my workshops are designed for the working artist, but all levels of artists are welcomed.

I look forward to meeting you all, teaching and making new painty friends.

Face and Body Painting Classes and Workshops

Through my own artistic journey over the past year I have come to a place where I needed to do something different, something outside of my artistic box and realized that if I was going through this how many other artists are going or have gone through this too and that is how my latest Creative Beauty workshop formed.
In my latest fusion beauty (where beauty makeup meets Art and face paint) workshop I not only teach you the fundamentals of beauty but, I teach you how to think outside of your own artistic box, how to dig deeper to find something new inside that you didn't even know existed. I had 14 ladies join me in the first creative beauty workshop and ALL had breakthroughs. It was so amazing to watch and even more amazing to hear all of the positive feedback.
I am really looking forward to taking this workshop and a few of my other skill building workshops on the road across the U.S. this year and abroad in 2018.
A few of the cities and areas that are in the works right now are:
2017
San Diego, California
Northern, California
The Bay Area, California
San Antonio & Dallas, Texas
Madison, Connecticut
New Jersey
Costa Rica
2018
The Netherlands
New Zealand
Once dates and times are confirmed they will be posted here as well as on my website and social media.
If you are interested in hosting a fusion beauty workshop in your area please email me at shawna@shawnadmakeup.com and don't forget to subscribe on my website to be notified when a new city is added to my calendar.

Goodbye 2013
It's time to say goodbye to 2013. Here's to an awesome year of learning for me in my personal life as well as my professional life. I am so thankful to all of you for supporting me throughout this year and all that it has brought. I took some time off in the beginning of the year to grieve the loss of my Grandma Judy. I didn't know that it would hit me as hard as it did. I guess you can never be ready for it and it happens when it happens. I learned to put GOD first in my life above all else. once I did that everything else began falling into place. I was given the opportunity to teach a class on FabaTV this year which had it been given to me last year I would not have been ready for. It proves that GOD's timing is always perfect.
I am so grateful for every opportunity that comes my way.I only hope to inspire the inner artist in all of you with everything that I do. I have had a few people unhappy with my decision to share the art of face painting with everyone via my Youtube tutorials . I guess they would be called haters. Who knew one day I would have people upset with me for sharing. Honestly, life is way too short not to share all that we have with one another. We are not promised tomorrow. So, no matter what anyone says, I will continue to share my creations with you. I only hope to bless others as I am so blessed by all of you! If GOD blesses you with a gift then, you must bless HIM and others with it.
Thank you for sharing 2013 with me. Here's to a prosperous and beautifully creative 2014!

Dia De Los Muertos Makeup
Today is Dia de Los Muertos. We celebrate the lives of those loved one's in our lives that have passed away. Today I celebrate the life of my beautiful Grandma Judy. She was the most beloved, amazing, funny, loving, caring, selfless woman I knew. My heart aches for her everyday but, I know she would not want me to hurt so today I will create and paint in her honor. She was always so supportive of my work and thought I was soo talented even when I didn't. She is only gone for a little while and one day we will be reunited in heaven and we will paint and create together. We will laugh and she will hug and kiss me like she always did.
Here are some of the Suagr skull faces I painted or did makeup for this year in honor of Dia de Los Muertos or Day of the dead....Please enjoy and celebrate with me!
This one was inspired by Diego Rivera's Nude with Calla Lilies painting...As most of you may know I love to paint anything related to flowers and nature. This is one of my favorites it is the first in a series of face and body painting Calacas or Sugar skulls in collaboration with Darling Images and Leanne Hare.
I hope you enjoy and are inspired as I have been by so many in my life. I will continue to paint these beautiful images in remebrance of the beautiful people in life that have passed before us. Happy day of the Dead to you all!

This is a couple that I painted to represent the Bride and Groom at the Dia de Los Muertos celebration.
Here is a close-up of the Brides Mask. This one had a ton of glitter and a few crystals added to the sides.
This one is more of a traditional skull or a more masculine version. I tried to keep the mouth more feminine.
and last but not least for sure, this is a more traditional Calaca. It is inspired by many paintings and tattoo art.I hope you enjoy and are inspired as I have been by so many in my life. I will continue to paint these beautiful images in remebrance of the beautiful people in life that have passed before us. Happy day of the Dead to you all!

Body Painting number 1
This is my first ever body painting. It was very exciting to do and I learned a lot bout what and what NOT to do like..Do not use DUO eyelash glue to secure sequins because they STAIN the skin!!! I wish I had more time to finish but, I think it came out pretty good for my first one. I can't wait to paint another! Any takers?
