In the face painting business it's important to plan and to have some face painting designs ready to go based on the theme of your event. You may not get asked for these designs but, it's important to be familiar with them just in case. Here is my homework for an up coming party I have based on the book character Paddington Bear.

Unicorn face painting

As a face painter one of the most beloved designs is the Unicorn. It's mystical and magical. Everything that face painting is to a child so, I have tried and tried to master it but, was never quite happy with my design. I decided instead of looking only at other face painters designs for inspiration it was time to look the horse in the face so to speak and model my Unicorn after an actual horse.
That was all I needed to realize what I needed to do to make it work. I sketched a design in my sketchbook and found a model and this is what I came up with. I'm really happy with her.
 Sometimes our best source of reference is nature itself.

Rose Petals Face Painting FOTD

Even though it's winter here in California I still love the look of pretty flowers on my face. One of my favorite things to paint are Roses. Here I have created some rose buds and flower petals with my Double delight spiltcake made some time ago. I hope you are inspired by this design to go out a create a bit of spring this winter! Now here is just a pretty little Fairy I designed. She is my Holly fairy. She has Holly berries in her hair and Ivy wings touched off with a little snow.

I thought I would start off with some cheek art designs. Mickey Mouse inspired this design. I have always wanted to take my kiddos to Disneyland for Christmas. We were planning to do that this year but, we ended up having to buy a new car so for now I can just dream about it and hopefully make it happen next year.

Halloween make-up tutorial
